Thank you ‘Voracious Readers Only’, for dropping ‘Guardian Angel’ by Alexis Madison into my inbox.
Looking to become a leading light in LAPD is tough enough, but it’s even more challenging for Megan. With racist and sexist comments around every corner, all she wants to do is to be trusted to lead a high profile investigation and solve the case. Megan finally feels like she has her big break, and with her trusted partner by her side, she’s confident compromising in her life is in the past.
She will show everyone that she’s a top detective.
Megan will track down the person responsible for killing at least three people before another man is shot.
What’s worse, not solving the case before another dies or falling in love with the next target?
Or is the next target actually the killer?
The feeling I got when reading Guardian Angel was this could happen anywhere. Not the murders, but the sexist and racist comments within the workplace and facing your colleagues every day. That’s what I loved about Megan; she wasn’t going to let anything go. If she had a lead to follow, she was there. If she had the slightest idea of one, she would go. She would follow if a suspect headed out of state to his New York abode.
I did find this difficult to read at times, but it was gripping when the twists and turns of the case started to develop. I found I enjoyed the mystery of the murder case more than Jack and Megan’s romance, which I questioned myself. The book is a romance you should invest in the main couple. As much as I loved Megan, the romance didn’t engage me as much as the mystery of the murder investigation she was on. I was for the mystery. SOME SAID THEY FOUND IT PREDICTABLE when I posted my Amazon review, but I wasn’t part of that camp. All I’ll say is read ‘Guardian Angel’ and make up your own mind.
