Celebrating 100 Years of Winnie the Pooh

Part One

The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne, with decorations by E.H. Shepard

A collection of stories from the Hundred Acre Wood. Reading sparks memories of Winnie-the-Pooh from my childhood.

A House is built at Pooh Corner for Eeyore.

Upon reading the first page of ‘The House at Pooh Corner,’ I am immediately brought back to a childhood memory of watching ‘Piglet’s Big Movie.’ Piglet has flashbacks of him and Pooh building a house for Eeyore. Milne’s book depicts this happening in the winter, right in the middle of a blizzard, whereas in the movie it’s in the middle of autumn. Then, naming the land, ‘Pooh Corner,’ (no spoilers), Winnie-the-Pooh is forced to reconsider his actions and decisions.
