Celebrating 100 Years of Winnie the Pooh

Part Three

The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne, with decorations by E.H. Shepard.

An Organised Search & a Heffalump Trap. What is that?

As I have said before, reading these stories about Pooh, Christopher Robin, and all their friends as an adult reminds me of watching the Walt Disney movies as a child. I don’t have clear memories of reading the Milne stories, but I most certainly had a hardback edition on my childhood bookshelf.

Approaching the third story in this book, I have no memory of Rabbit organising a search party for a friend (friends-and-relations, as Rabbit calls it). I don’t even recall Pooh and Piglet waiting to be rescued after falling down a hole. Or a pit, or Heffalump Trap? Honestly, I have nothing reading the third story of the book. Perhaps, if I was child reading that I would find a moment, an event that I could relate to, I don’t know.

Like I said, I don’t remember Walt Disney making a movie from the third story’s plot. Please, let me know if there was one, it will be interesting to watch.
